The Healthy Homework Hub

Our very successful Healthy Homework Hub will be returning on Tuesday the 12th of November and running weekly from 16:30 to 18:00.   The activities in this group are delivered in two sections.  First the children are given assistance with their homework by group facilitator Samantha Cumming, and Wendy Slavin (school teacher at Valley Primary).  The children are given help with all aspects of their homework and also have access to the internet via two laptops which are provided by the Centre.

The second half of the activities consist of teaching the children basic cooking skills where they prepare a meal for themselves which typically has a healthy theme.  This section is delivered by our Volunteer of the Year Cheryl Clarke who also delivers our Cooking for Fun class on Monday mornings and Karen Frame (Residential support Worker at Oasis).

The classes are currently limited to pupils of Valley Primary School and numbers are restricted to 15.  The age bracket for the children attending is from Primary 3 to Primary 7.
